Schools and educational organisations carry a huge responsibility.

Alongside teaching, learning and improvement, there are people to support, teams to lead, decisions to make and pressures to manage. Leaders and staff are often expected to keep going, even when the demands feel complex.

Lightbulb Thinking provides coaching, therapy, mental health first aid training and consultancy for schools, colleges, trusts and educational organisations across the UK.

Led by James Ediker, the work is shaped around clearer thinking, stronger leadership, staff wellbeing and positive change.

Practical support for the pressures that education settings face

Every school or educational organisation is different, but many face similar pressures.

Leadership teams are managing change, supporting staff, responding to complex needs and making decisions that affect whole communities. Staff may be carrying high emotional demands while trying to perform well and support others.

Lightbulb Thinking helps education professionals and organisations step back, make sense of the challenge and find a constructive way forward.

Support can be delivered online or in person, through one-to-one work, group workshops, training, consultancy projects or wider organisational programmes.

Support that fits your organisation

Lightbulb Thinking doesn't offer a one-size-fits-all package.

Your support may begin with a single consultation, a one-to-one coaching arrangement, a therapy referral, a staff workshop, a leadership development session or a broader consultancy project.

James will take time to understand your setting, your pressures and your goals before recommending the right approach.

Support can be shaped around:

  • School leadership and decision-making
  • Staff wellbeing and resilience
  • Mental health awareness
  • Communication and relationships
  • Change and transition
  • Team development
  • Organisational culture

A joined-up approach to leadership, wellbeing & improvement

Education settings need support that understands both people and organisations.

A challenge with staff wellbeing may also involve leadership, communication, workload, culture or change. A leadership issue may affect confidence, relationships and decision-making. An organisational improvement project may need both strategic thinking and careful support for the people involved.

Lightbulb Thinking brings these areas together, helping schools and educational organisations find support that feels relevant, professional and practical.
